If you like a little rock with your blues, then get ready for Texas Flood, Western Canada's pre-eminent Texas Blues - Rock Band.
Texas Flood formed in 1993 and began touring as a tribute to the late, great Stevie Ray Vaughan, being strongly influenced by the musical style of the late Texas blues man. Over the years of touring, the band has incorporated and adopted many other influences and has forged them into an identifiable sound of their own. The members of Texas Flood combine over 60 years of stage experience between them. Drummer Gerry Adolphe is well known for his stellar play with the bands: Chilliwack and the Jim Byrnes Band. Bassist Lee Oliphant has toured extensively with Canadian slide guitar wizard Ellen Macillwayne. Singer - Guitarist Paul Kaip rounds out the lineup. Paul picked up his guitar as a ten year old and has never looked back. Using the influences of guitar greats such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and of course Stevie Ray Vaughan. Paul has honed his guitar playing into an all out assault on the senses. Presently Texas Flood resides every Monday night at the " Yale Hotel", Vancouver's home of the blues. During the summer of 2000 they are also working as the backing band for Freddie Roulette, lap steer guitar legend out of Chicago, Illinois.
