BIO
TRIBUTE
TO THE 80'S
First formed in 1988, Escape's original members included Steve Danielsen on
lead guitar, bassist Steve Manning, Anton Danielsen as the driving force
behind the drum kit, Doug Mayba on keyboards and the powerful vocals of Mark
Patrick. Like any young band of talented musicians, members rotated as other
opportunities arose. In 1989 Kevin Sallows replaced Doug on keyboards. Then
1990 saw big changes as Harley Umphry took over on guitar and a young Dale
Wallace replaced Kevin. Escape also gained the steady beat of Scott Aquino in
1990, who was then succeeded by Rich Oler later that year. Jeff Gillespie
also stepped in at this time taking over the job as lead guitarist for
Harley. As a final change Michael Kaye assumed the position of bassist from
Steve Manning in 1991.
But Escape kept on rocking with the smooth and steady voice of Mark Patrick.
Escape toured Canada
as a cover band while writing original material for their first release under
the "Johnny Jett Records" label - known for bringing out The West
End Girls. Escape was to be the next big thing. Although the band did record
some songs for the album, unfortunately, the particulars of the contract
could not be worked out and management suggested the members of Escape pass
on the deal and wait for another offer. However the times were changing and
that other offer never materialized. It was 1992 and although the band never
formally broke up, the final line up of Mark Patrick, Michael Kaye, Dale
Wallace, Jeff Gillespie, and Rich Oler started going separate ways. Some took
day jobs, some got married, some moved on into different genres of music. All
kept in touch and any one of them will tell you that the best days they had
in their musical careers were the days performing the hits of the 80's.
Fast forward to 2004 - regrouped, regenerated and ready for their repeat
performance Escape is back and better then ever, giving a true
larger-then-life tribute to of all your favorite 80's rock hits including
Journey, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and Poison. The talented Todd Ostrowercha on
keyboards joins returning Escape members Michael Kaye on bass, the slamming
beat of Scott Aquino on drums, Steve Danielsen's empowering guitar and the
sounding better then ever Mark Patrick. They've truly recaptured the essence
and spirit of the 80's right down to the hair, clothes and the VOLUME!!
All Escape players share a unique kinship and are a true Band of Brothers so
surprise guest appearances by past members of Escape at performances are not
unheard of. Come on out and rock with the boys - and keep in mind there are
still unreleased demos and new songwriting in progress so the best of Escape
is still yet to come.
