But G-Bop doesn't stop there! Gary and Maria's ability to transcend the smooth jazz genre and the pop stylings of yesteryear and today makes for a musically very versatile duo.

Gary Waight: Guitar, Vocals & Keyboards

Hailing from Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Gary has had an interest in music all his life. A member of the Pure Gold Show out of Portland, Oregon in his younger years, Gary has traveled throughout Southeast Asia, the United States and Canada performing as a professional entertainer. Giving up the road life in the late 1980's, he returned to the University of Victoria and then moved to Japan where he continued to pursue music part-time. Gary has continued to perform on a part-time basis upon his return to Canada.

 

Maria Ho: Vocals & Keyboards

Maria's passion for singing and playing the piano began when she was very young. Maria began with classical piano, and then later developed a passion for playing other types of music. After finishing her U.B.C. degree, she studied voice and loved it. In her spare time, she carries out fundraising and promotional work for jazz festivals. Maria has performed around Vancouver, and performs regularly at Rossini's in Gastown.
