The SQUATCH & GERRY
Comedy Show

David "Squatch" Ward was born in Glasgow, Scotland and moved to British Columbia at age of three.

Squatch started in the entertainment business in 1986 as a stand-up comic while running a nightclub, which featured comedy. The second week that the club was in operation, one of the acts failed to show.  The full house had paid a hefty cover charge to get in; Squatch took the stage and told jokes. He was such a hit that three months later he quit his job, went on the road and continues to this day.

In 1990, Squatch was hosting a talent contest when an agent who went on to get him auditions for films and television shows being shot in Vancouver approached him.  The rest is history.

His numerous film credits include: National Lampoon's Golf Punks, Dirty,  Underworld, Carpool, Once in a Blue Moon, Ernest Rides Again, Harmony Cats, Stay Tuned, Mystery Date and Wings.  Television appearances include Police Academy, The Sentinel, Dead Man's Gun, Alibi, The Outer Limits, The adventures of Shirley Holmes, Highlander, The Commish, Neon Rider, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Mom P.I., Wiseguy and Disney’s So Weird.

Gerry Owens is a veteran performer who has been entertaining audiences for over 25 years.  Beginning in high school, by the time he graduated,  he had performed in over a hundred stage shows; a dozen TV shows and had a Saturday evening program on a major market radio station.  He then worked over six years in broadcasting before a chance reading in a newspaper add looking for acts for Punchlines Comedy Theatre, Western Canada’s premier comedy club and chain.  He was accepted as a regular and soon became a favourite with his stand-up, celebrity impressions and his musical ability

To his credit he has thousands of live performances throughout Canada and the United States, from major North American comedy clubs to county fairs, corporate conventions to cruise ships, colleges to universities, charities to benefits, sordid nightclubs to formal government functions.  Gerry has done dozens of television appearances on nationally syndicated variety/talk shows, motion pictures, made for TV movies and more recently “Comedy Street” a half hour television series.

Together Squatch & Gerry is a guarantee of an evening of fun.  They appeal to a wide demographic audience with their combination of off the wall humour, zany onstage antics, characters, impressions and outrageous musical numbers.
