Ten years ago, Ashley Lucky, the leader of Tropical Heat, decided to experiment with a combination of the Tenor Steel Drum (Melody Pan or Piano Pan), Guitars (both Electric and Acoustic), Keyboard and Percussion. The result was desirable - a reduced number of drums without jeopardizing that hot Caribbean sound. He was amazed by the versatility of this combination, which has won the group a loyal following of friends and fans.

Tropical Heat is comprised of three to ten musicians adaptable for any occasion which, upon request, can be accompanied by Afro-Caribbean dancers; they'll draw listeners into an energetic Conga line or a sinuous Limbo contest!

Tropical Heat is BC’S Hottest Steel Drum Band. They can perform as a trio to a 5 piece band.
